I’m not sure if I understand how Magento can go cloud-only and also keep the open source edition? Can you clarify your thinking there?

It seems if the open source survives then there will always be a market for freelancers, agencies and hosting providers that specialize in the open source edition and if its truly open source the Adobe can’t force anyone onto their hosting platform.

I do wonder if there will be a crackdown on agencies and hosting providers using trademarked terms or part of trademarked terms (i.e. Mage-, -agento) in their company names though. I think Adobe might be a lot more protective of the Magento brand they just paid so much for so I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of those companies have to re-brand.
